The skill level chart below provides a simple guide to selecting a suitable product from our catalogue.
The skill levels range from Skill Level 1, which requires no prior radio control experience to our highest rating, Skill Level 5 which means that more technical ability or care in operation may be required.
This is only a guide and there is no reason why a novice cannot have success with a higher skill level product.
Electric Models
We recommend starting with a Skill Level 1 or Skill Level 2 vehicle to ensure a successful entry into the radio control hobby.
- Skill Level 1: Models are generally ready to use straight out of the box and no previous experience with radio controlled models is required.

- Skill Level 3: Some models with Skill Level 3 may require full or part assembly and may require the bodyshell finishing or painting. This level also includes higher performance models which may benefit from previous driving experience.
- Skill Level 4: These models may require more detailed assembly and finishing or be high performance products aimed at the competitive race market.
- Skill Level 5: Extreme performance requiring previous driving experience.
Nitro Models:
If you are looking to purchase a Nitro powered model, the Skill Level starts at 3 because of the extra complexity associated with starting and maintaining the engine.

Petrol Models:
